\"microsoft<\/a>This week in Microsoft Office 365<\/a> news, we cover how end of support for Windows 7 affects Office 365 ProPlus users, along with updates to Outlook, SharePoint, Yammer and more.<\/p>\n

1. Automated Incident Response feature update. <\/strong>Microsoft is adding another compromised account playbook for Automated Investigation and Response (AIR) to auto-investigate. A gradual rollout for customers with Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) began in early October. The rollout will be finished globally for those clients by the end of October.<\/p>\n

2. New PSTN Minute Pools report.<\/strong> This feature will give users an overview of calling activity and audio conferencing in their organization. A gradual rollout for all users will begin in mid-October and be completed worldwide by the end of the month.<\/p>\n

3. Updates to Tasks for Outlook on the web.<\/strong> These changes will reflect Microsoft\u2019s commitment to integrating Office 365 products. A gradual rollout will begin in late October and will be completed worldwide by December 2019.<\/p>\n

4. Simpler form customization for SharePoint lists and libraries. <\/strong>Starting in late October for targeted release customers, this change will make it easier to customize the ordering and visibility of fields in SharePoint list and library forms. This update will be completely rolled out worldwide by early November.<\/p>\n

5. Update to the address used to send notification emails from SharePoint Online. <\/strong>Microsoft will gradually roll this change out for public preview starting in early November. The rollout will be complete globally by mid-November.<\/p>\n

6. Changes to Yammer Data Retention settings. <\/strong>These updates are based on customer feedback that the current policies and documentation for Yammer Data Retention can be confusing. The changes will take effect November 4.

\n7. End of support for Windows 7 and its impact on Office 365 ProPlus. <\/strong>Microsoft has previously announced that Window 7 will no longer be supported after January 14, 2020. Under the Modern Lifecycle Policy, Office 365 customers must keep up with current system requirements for the service or product. That means Office 365 ProPlus users must use the solution on an operating system that is in support. Using it on an unsupported OS could lead to issues with reliability and performance.<\/p>\n
