\"windows<\/a>Microsoft is everywhere; their products are used around the world. And, Bill Gates, Microsoft\u2019s chief, is one of the most widely known names in the field of technology. That being said, Microsoft is missing one thing, it has never had a \u201ccool\u201d image. But the release of Windows Phone, Microsoft’s new smartphone software, might alter our perception.<\/p>\n

Microsoft has long fought an industry reputation as a sort of stodgy dullard. There is a decent list of failed Microsoft products<\/a>. Remember the Zune music player? Perhaps not. What about the Kin phone? That flop has long disappeared from the minds of most consumers.<\/p>\n

Windows Phone software may change this, as it is a hit amongst the technology press and consumers alike. Consumers are saying that in general Windows Phone is probably the best performing operating systems available on the market.<\/p>\n

The praise that Windows Phone is receiving is predominantly dues to its eye-catching look and the animated home screen tiles, in comparison to the more static home screen of the iPhone<\/a>. This OS has people fired up as well as it gives users quick access to their social networks. The social media icons on the home screen come to life when a friend posts an update or image, which means you don\u2019t need to click the Facebook icon to get a peek at your activity.<\/p>\n

Even with all these features and praise Windows Phone has not been the biggest seller. This is perhaps a result of the phones that come loaded with the OS. Many individuals believe these phones are dull and wireless services providers are still pushing the iPhone and Android in a big way.<\/p>\n

While sales may be lower than ideal for Windows Phone the change it is making to Microsoft\u2019s reputation could have a very favourable impact. Where the consumer is concerned, a little cool never hurt a company.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
