Jeremy Jonsson is the director of global support services for Converged Communication Systems (CCS) and Stratosphere Networks. He started working in communications and electronics when he joined the U.S. Marine Corps directly after high school, becoming a tactical and commercial phone system technician. While serving in Saudi Arabia and Iraq, he supported communications for field Marines in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield. For his service, he received two U.S. Marine Corps Good Conduct Service Medals, and his unit received a Navy Presidential Unit Citation as well as a Navy Unit Commendation.
After serving for nearly 8.5 years and achieving the rank of staff sergeant, Jeremy left the military and worked for a small electronics manufacturing services provider. He moved on to what was then GTE Customer Networks, currently known as Verizon Business. He spent 18 years in field service as a level 2 technician for Verizon.
When Verizon began shutting down their business phone division, Jeremy knew he needed to go in a new direction. CCS was hiring at the time and offered him a tier 2/3 technical support position. He worked his way up to technical support management and his current role. For our clients, he serves in various roles, such as telephone support desk manager, server administrator, and remote monitoring administrator and responding engineer. Additionally, he acts as a tier 2/3 support engineer for clients and internal teams.
He holds an associate of arts degree in networking and various certifications, including Avaya Certified Support Specialist (ACSS), Nortel Succession Installation and Maintenance, and Alcatel OmniPCX Installation and Maintenance.
