CHICAGO - Stratosphere Networks has announced it is one of the sponsors of POMP!, the annual benefit for Evanston Scholars, a nonprofit organization that promotes college access and success for a diverse group of students. The event will take place on Friday, May 11 from 7 to 10 p.m. at Smylie Brothers Brewing Co. in Evanston.
POMP! will honor 2018 Evanston Scholars college and high school graduates with cocktails, a buffet dinner, a raffle, and a silent auction. Proceeds from the event will help provide college access, success programing and support for ambitious Evanston students.
Evanston Scholars runs a comprehensive six-year program involving workshops, mentors, ACT prep, and college counseling to support students' academic and/or financial needs. Traditionally, the students served by the nonprofit organization are first-generation college entrants, low-income students, and students of color.
"We're proud to be one of the sponsors of this year's Evanston Scholars benefit," said Kevin Rubin, president and COO of Stratosphere Networks. "Giving back to the community not only makes Evanston a better place for all of us but also enriches our lives. We're more than happy to help make education more accessible for local students."
