The latest Microsoft Office 365 news includes a new Tasks experience for Outlook on the Web users becoming generally available, alterations to forms-based authentication for Office apps, and other updates and new features.

- What’s happening: Microsoft previously announced the general availability of the new Outlook on the Web. To further improve the user experience, the new Tasks powered by To Do is now generally available as well. Microsoft also plans to retire the classic Tasks opt-in toggle.

- What’s happening: Yammer email notifications in Outlook on the Web will soon be completely interactive Yammer threads.

- What’s happening: Microsoft previously paused planned updates to Office 365 Message Encryption (OME). However, an updated email layout for encrypted messages has already been rolled out to all tenants.

- What’s happening: Global Admins will soon have access to a new feature that allows them to discover, purchase, acquire and deploy 365 Apps created by Microsoft partners from one spot. Up until the launch of this feature, admins had to go to three separate portals to deploy Web apps, Office add-ins and Teams app.

- What’s happening: Delegates with full access permissions will soon have the ability to send emails and reply to calendar invitations on behalf of another user via Outlook for iOS and Android.

- What’s happening: Microsoft Teams users will soon have access to an Enhanced Power BI tab.

- What’s happening: Microsoft is updating the handling of forms-based authentication in Office apps in order to enhance security. Forms-based authentication is a legacy method for resources not safeguarded by Microsoft account (MSA) or Azure Active Directory (AAD).
