Microsoft Office 365 News 09-15-2020: Microsoft Forms Adds Responder Progress Bar

    • Responder progress bar for Microsoft Forms
      • What’s happening: Microsoft Forms will soon show a progress bar for responders on multi-page/multi-section quizzes and forms, if the quiz or form owner chooses to enable the feature.
      • Rollout start: Mid-September 2020

    • Android inline Teams message translation
      • What’s happening: Microsoft is now rolling out an inline message translation feature for Android end users on the Teams mobile app. The rollout of this feature for iOS users is already ongoing.
    • Teams Large Gallery view (preview) now available for iOS and desktop client
      • What’s happening: Large Gallery view (preview) is now available for the Teams desktop client and iOS. This feature allows meeting attendees to view up to 49 video feeds on a single screen. Microsoft is in the process of making this feature available for Android users.
    • Teams information pane and pinned posts
      • What’s happening: Microsoft previously announced the rollout of a new information pane and pinned posts for Teams end users. At this time, the information pane has finished rolling out, while the implementation timeline for pinned posts has been extended.
    • Gallery view for Microsoft Lists and SharePoint
      • What’s happening: Microsoft will soon add a gallery view feature to SharePoint and Microsoft Lists. That means four main views will be available to end users configuring lists: gallery, grid, lists and calendar.
      • Rollout start: Mid-September 2020 for Targeted Release customers; End of September 2020 for Standard Release customers
      • Rollout finish: End of September 2020 for Targeted Release customers; Mid-October 2020 for Standard Release customers

    • Excel Ideas Feature updates
      • What’s happening: Microsoft has announced plans to implement a naming update to enhance the discoverability and usability of the Ideas feature in Excel. This update will not affect the functionality of the feature.
      • Rollout date: Early October 2020

      • What’s happening: Beginning on Oct. 1, 2020, Microsoft plans to enable the 2020 Release Wave 2 for their global customer base. Production environments will undergo the update during a region-specific scheduled maintenance window.

      • What’s happening: Microsoft has released updates to Microsoft 365 Apps to the Current Channel, Monthly Enterprise Channel, Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel (Preview), and Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel.
      • Rollout date: Gradual rollout began Sept. 8, 2020
    • Delayed rollout for policy limiting access to OneDrive and SharePoint Online documents
      • What’s happening: Microsoft previously announced plans to introduce a policy that automatically rescinds access to SharePoint Online sites and individual OneDrives for external guests after a set amount of time. To ensure the best possible user experience, the supplier has delayed this deployment.
    • Delayed removal of some Teams system messages
