      • What’s happening: Microsoft has announced that this new Teams feature will identify likely spam calls in the call toast.
    • Public preview: Communication Compliance linked content analysis capability
      • What’s happening: Microsoft has announced an upcoming preview of a Communication Compliance ability to analyze linked content from SharePoint Online and OneDrive. Policies designed to identify violations in Microsoft Teams will soon analyze documents shared via chat.
    • Text and annotation icon styles in SharePoint spaces
      • What’s happening: The SharePoint spaces feature allows end users to create immersive mixed-reality environments. End users can more easily create consistent and visually appealing content with the addition of text styles and annotation icon styles.
    • Background effects for Teams on the web
      • What’s happening: Microsoft has announced the introduction of background effects on the web, allowing participants to alter or blur what appears behind them during Teams meetings and calls.

Updated Features

    • Disable option for Exchange Online plus addressing
      • What’s happening: Microsoft previously announced plans to make plus addressing an always-on feature for all Exchange Online clients starting in January 2022. Based on client feedback, the supplier has concluded there are instances in which organizations don’t want plus addressing enabled. Subsequently, Microsoft is adding a setting that will allow clients to disable the feature before the shift to always-on in 2022.
    • Communication Compliance solution tagging improvements
      • What’s happening: Microsoft has announced the general availability of tagging improvements to enhance remediation and investigation in the Communication Compliance solution within the Microsoft 365 Compliance Center.
    • Microsoft 365 roadmap site improvements
      • What’s happening: Microsoft has announced plans to update how users view, sort, filter and search for information on the Microsoft 365 roadmap site.
    • Integration of Exchange submission channels
      • What’s happening: Microsoft has decided to stop maintaining two separate submission channels for admin/user submissions from the quarantine portal and other submissions (admin submissions from the submission portal and user submissions from the Outlook report message add-in).
    • API improvements to make files in the SharePoint recycle bin accessible
      • What’s happening: Microsoft is making the contents of recycled files accessible to APIs via a special request header. The improvements will cause new change log behavior, so any apps that consume operations from the change log might require alterations to avoid disruption.
    • Microsoft 365 Apps
      • What’s happening: Updates are now available for Microsoft 365 Apps for the following channels: Current Channel, Monthly Enterprise Channel, Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel (Preview), and Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel.

      • What’s happening: Microsoft is aware of a configuration issue that resulted in duplicate logs in Microsoft 365 Audit Log Search and Office 365 Management Activity API.
